I am thankful.

God has given us many amazing gifts. The one that I think stands out as one of the most important is FREE WILL. When Satan causes chaos in our lives, we have a choice. We can choose to crumble and fall, find blame for all of our problems, and ask “God, why did you do this to me?” Or we can stand tall, be thankful and glorify God in all we do.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 reminds us to “give thanks in all circumstances.” Its not always easy, but as I found myself saying multiple times over the past few weeks – sometimes you need an explosion to make a change for the positive. In bad times come better times…if you make the choice to see things with a thankful heart.

I am thankful for laundry – it reminds me that I have clothes.
I am thankful for dirty dishes – they reminds me that I ate a great meal.
I am thankful for tragedy – it reminds me of the good times, and helps me focus on better times to come.
I am thankful for change – it reminds me I have a choice.
I am thankful for arguments – they reminds me I have a voice.
I am thankful for protestors – they reminds me I have freedom.
I am thankful for an empty wallet – it teaches me how to be resourceful.
I am thankful for temper tantrums – they remind me of the two amazing miracles God has given me.
I am thankful for Kris’ bad jokes – they remind me I have a husband that embraces laughter.
I am thankful for illnesses – they remind us how strong we really are.
I am thankful for those that question my faith – they help me to realize why I am faithful.
I am thankful for negativity – it makes the positive stand out.
I am thankful for a crazy day at work – it means I have a job.
I am thankful for endless repairs – it means I have a home and a car.

God gives us plenty – love, laughter, friends, family and especially holidays when we take the time to remember the good things in life.
